Great Yorkshire Show 2008

Toft Alpaca enjoyed presence on the catwalk at the 2008 Great Yorkshire Show. Kate Gilbert styled our seven models from head to toe in Toft Alpaca, resulting in a stunning collection of seven contrasting outfits.

Our Knee High socks went down a storm and we sold out of ladies sizes by the end of the second day!

Our Capes also proved very popular and we had to point people to mail-order to get the colours seen on the website.

We used the show as a launch of several new products: Headbands, designed as both fashion items, but with a practical use for skiing (or covereing unwashed festival hair.)

Our new Autumn/Winter 'bobble collection' is picking up as we move from our lightweight summer knits through to chunky winter ones.

As ever at shows in the North of England, our handknitted hats were on high demand, bought by all ages for different purposes. From beanies and bakerboys through to big aran knit berets and our new felt 'flower pots'.

The 'spiral scarves' trialled in 2007 have proved popular enough to be carried into 2008, the small bouncing spirals bringing squeaks of delight to some wearers.

The summer colours of Tie Cardigans are almost sold out. We have a few baby pink left, but will now move into the deep reds , greens and browns of autumn.

Catch our new 'oversized bag' designs on our website.
